Artistic Licence Engineering Ltd. is a market leader in the design, development and manufacture of intelligent lighting control for the architectural, entertainment and commercial lighting industry. We are a major supplier of OEM (own equipment manufacture) solutions worldwide, and provide bespoke lighting solutions for a broad range of projects and venues.
Following the company’s recent acquisition by prestigious global group, ROBE Lighting s.r.o., we are undergoing a period of expansion. The new owners are committed to the growth of the Artistic Licence brand, and to that end we are seeking to recruit talented individuals to join our team. The position of Product Application Specialist has arisen with Artistic Licence, a world leader in the lighting controls industry.
You will become the Artistic Licence product expert, with an in-depth understanding of the operation and application of our broad range of lighting infrastructure solutions. A largely remote-working position, the job will entail travel to our customers’ venues and installations to provide pre and post-sales technical advice, support and troubleshooting. It will also include training of our distributers’ technical staff both remotely and on-site, plus generation of technical training material such as application notes and ‘how-to’ videos.
The job will require a training phase with a significant amount of time spent in our Devon office. Once you are fully up-to-speed, you will be expected to visit the office on an approximately monthly basis for meetings and briefings.
The package will include an allowance for travel and a NEST statutory pension. The holiday allowance is 25 days plus bank holidays.
Artistic Licence operates from a newly refurbished heritage property in the small town of Bovey Tracey on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. The cities of Exeter and Plymouth are within easy reach, as is the beautiful south Devon coastline.
You should have a wealth of knowledge and practical experience in the use of DMX512, RDM and Art-Net/sACN, and a familiarity of how these protocols can be interfaced with DALI. While not an explicitly sales-oriented role, you should be comfortable liaising with customers at the decision-making level – be that during field product demonstrations, trade show meetings or site visits.
On the administrative side, you will be expected to handle support questions (via email or phone) and to assist with tender applications or project enquiries.
All candidates should hold a full driving licence and be eligible to work in the UK.
