ROLE
This new role is being created to expand the capacity and capability of the company's internal commercial contract management function, as the business continues to grow. Reporting to the company's Senior Commercial Manager, the successful applicant will be part of the multiple project teams, assisting in the monitoring and management of project scope, contractual compliance, project valuations and payment applications and outturn cost and profitability; supporting the design and sales teams with preparation and maintenance of tender responses, quotations and forecasts and supporting the sales team in the preparation of quotations for large private schemes.
The successful applicant will almost always be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, supported by project team leaders and their line manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Consultancy Support
- Supporting the company’s design team with the generation and management of cost plans for consultancy projects
Tender Response Support
- Preparation of commercial tender responses including the taking off of device / cable / port / circuit count from tender information
- Population and maintenance of tender pricing model
- Preparation of pricing schedules and value engineering schedules
- Assisting sales team with preparation of large private client project cost plans and quotations
Contract Management
- Assisting the senior commercial manager with financial management of large project sub-contracts including the valuation of work done, preparation of payment applications, review of contractor evaluations and certifications; the administration of site instructions and change orders; preparation of final accounts
- Assisting sales team with financial management of private project cost plans and quotations
- Attending internal and external project meetings and technical reviews
- Monthly/quarterly cost and profit analysis for commercial projects (Excel, Job Costing)
- Monthly/quarterly labour and prelims analysis (Excel, Job Costing) and reporting to Project Managers
Financial Management
- Supporting senior commercial manager in the maintenance of revenue/resource/invoice forecasts for commercial projects and consultancy / design work
- Monthly design time and billing analysis (Excel, Sage Line 50)

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
- The successful applicant will have a strong interest in building technologies
- They will have prior experience of working in the construction industry or building design/consultancy professions
- Experience in a previous contract management support role would be an advantage but appropriate training will be provided.
- Strong Excel capability is essential, as is experience working with construction information, including positional and schematic drawings, technical specifications and schedules.
- An aptitude for learning and working with new software applications would also be advantageous.
- They will also require excellent organisational, time management and communication skills.
