Would you like to work with an amazing team, playing a leading role in creating some of the most fabulous houses in the country? Are you a problem solver, organised and a team player? Do you enjoy new challenges, learning new skills, and delivering top quality results? Tiredof working on Sky boxes and HDMI video distribution. If so read on....
This role would suit an ambitious tecnician who was looking for a broader and more varied role. Electrical knowledge and installation skills are important, but only one part of the job.
Brilliant Lighting is an established business with an enviable reputation for creating stunning lighting schemes for prestigious new build and historic houses. We are focused on the high end residential and hospitality markets. We design, specify, supply and commission both the lighting and the lighting control systems (including electric curtains and blinds), and are an integral part of a project team throughout a build. Technical excellence, a ‘can do’ attitude, good team skills and great attention to detail are key. We’re based in beautiful North Yorkshire, and work across the UK and abroad.
With an expanding turnover – and huge potential for further growth – we are seeking an additional lighting field engineer to help grow the business. Whilst we don’t install the huge majority of our designs, we brief the client’s electricians, check the install and jointly fault find with them. We sometimes install more the complex elements of the design. We always have a very hands on role installing, commissioning and programming the Lutron lighting control, and Lutron curtain tracks/blinds. We liaise with the site teams ongoing to ensure that they have the right information, resources and problem solving support during a build. We build close relationships with the clients and the project teams, often over a course of years.
Under guidance from other very experienced members of the team the role will be wide ranging but will include:
Designing, programming and commissioning lighting control systems, primarily Lutron HomeWorks.
Installing and commissioning Lutron electric blinds and curtain tracks.
Setting up basic networks, or liaising with other firms providing networks.
Helping to problem solve onsite issues. This can be very ‘hands on.’
Helping to make our lighting schemes work ‘on the ground.’ This involves advising the relevant members of site project teams (main contractor, electrician etc.) on requirements for particular fittings or effects, helping to resolve installation queries etc.
Ideally being able to tweak our AutoCAD plans to reflect minor changes onsite.
Helping maintain the office premises and lighting displays.
