Your primary focus will be to support specific manufacturers’ lines of networking and HD distribution products, becoming the company’s expert in their product range, working alongside the sales team to grow sales and building close working relationships with our customers through the provision of knowledgeable pre-sales support and system specification.
To succeed you must be focused on providing excellent service and support and generally be passionate about technology. A significant proportion of your time will be spent talking to customers, understanding their requirements, specifying appropriate solutions and providing technical proposals. Through this you will cultivate strong customer relationships, ensuring that you’re their first point of contact for their next project. You will also be required to travel to support regional customers, training and other events.
Areas of responsibility include:
- Provide pre-sales product support to System Integrator customers and internal staff alike
- Co-ordinate new product introductions, test and co-ordinate feedback for product development
- Maintain and develop technical information and resources and sales tools to maximise opportunities
Candidate Profile:
Recognised qualification in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science / Information Technology with a comprehensive understanding of networking and Custom Installation / Residential market with a minimum of 5 years’ work experience in an IP / network-based technology environment. This is primarily a pre-sales technical support role and you should have a solid understanding of LAN/WAN network design topology and configuration, plus in-depth knowledge of IP, including routers, switching, load balancing, etc. Experience in VoIP/SIP/AVoIP is required and Lutron QS professional certifications are desirable.
The successful candidate should be self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed. Performance will be monitored against sales targets, a set of business objectives and quarterly reviews. Reporting to the Sales Manager, you should be capable of working on your own initiative with minimum supervision. You should be able to demonstrate strong analytical skills and a problem-solving approach. Longer-term, an ambitious person could expand the role as the business grows and it would ideally suit someone looking to develop a long-term career. Good written and oral communication skills are required, with the ability to clearly articulate technical issues to technical and non-technical people alike. Conversant with CAD / Visio & MS Office generally. A full clean driving licence is required
