Who are we?
Remember the cartoon The Jetsons, as a kid? Or, how about the movie, Iron Man? Both of these shows have a key commonality: they showcased really killer homes that were souped up with the kind of technology that would blow your mind if that technology actually existed in real life.
Well, what was only sci-fi in those shows is rapidly becoming real life today. Consumer technology and smart-home systems are evolving at a rapid pace, which means homes being built or renovated today and in the coming years are going to look more and more like those homes in the movies.
We started out nearly 15 years ago with a simple mission: “Experience the Difference.” We specialize in the installation of sophisticated home automation systems and are dedicated to providing the best user experience and performance, providing a wide selection of products and solutions to our customers. What would you be doing?
As the Lead Technician at our company, you’ll spend your time working in homes and businesses to install and integrate the latest in A/V and automation technology.
Here’s how a typical week might look:
On Monday, you might find yourself finishing final touches on a rack build, taking off around lunch to show a new technician the ropes at a home under construction, and stopping by a nearby project to make sure prewire was done correctly.
On Tuesday, you may be reviewing a proposal to ensure the necessary equipment is accounted for;
On Wednesdays, we all fly to Vegas together and hit the casinos. (just kidding; we just wanted to make sure you’re still paying attention)
On Thursday, you may walk a client through their new home, educating them on their new integrated system;
You may end your week on Friday by putting the finishing touches on a dedicated theater room.
You’ll spend most of your time working onsite as the lead service technician. This includes acting as the lead on system configuration and programming, walking clients through newly installed systems, and overseeing any other technicians onsite. Other days you’ll work on serving existing clients to ensure their equipment is working smoothly. We expect you to stay up on the latest trends in the home technology industry. What can we say? We like to stay current.
If we’re lucky, your daily work will be planned and structured. However, priorities can shift at a moment’s notice. You must be comfortable with shifting focus and willing to be an active participant in juggling multiple demands.
You will always be expected to treat our clients and your colleagues with patience and friendliness no matter how big or small their issue. Client service is something we hold sacred at our company so it is of the utmost importance that you be willing and able to serve as a helping hand for our clients in their moment of need.
What should you bring to the table?
A high school degree or GED equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the A/V field or related industry
Crestron Home programming certification
Alarm.com, structured wiring, and level 2 networking training certificates of completion
A self-starter attitude, with a desire to continuously improve
Highly organized; dedicated to details and follow-through
Patient and friendly personality at all times
Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
Resourceful and willing to patiently work through challenging situations
Ambition to strive for 100% client satisfaction at all times
Ability to life 50-70lbs
